KW Cares and Liberty continue to give back to charities. These charities help those who are affected by natural disasters such as wildfires and droughts.

St. Louis, United States - July 30, 2018 /PressCable/ —

St. Louis, Missouri (July 30, 2018)- A local St. Louis charity called KW Cares offers disaster and emergency funding to the families of its associates. KW Cares is a non-profit that is the result of Keller Williams, a St. Louis based real estate company that has set aside time to give back. This public charity is now supported by associates from all across North America, including Liberty Consultants. The company attained 503 status, which allows them to accept donations on behalf of those in need. This includes men, women, and children across the country who have been affected from disasters such as wildfires and droughts.

KW Cares ends up giving a percentage of their donations to three different causes : 1) Homes For Our Troops, who donates homes to veterans who served in the military after 9-11; 2) Ryan’s Well, a charity that helps deprived countries secure clean water; and 3) the MD Anderson Cancer Center, which supports a multitude of programs working together to find a cure. The outgoing tithes complete a four-pronged approach to giving which KW Cares supports with tax-deductible, tax-exempt donations. Their status in line with the government as a 503 charity lends an air of trustworthiness, as the IRS does not grant such a leniency unless the operation is making a substantial difference.

KW Cares took in an abundant amount of donations last year that it became a struggle to keep up while running their own business. This is a good problem to have in which they ended up bringing another company into the fold. KW Cares teamed up with Liberty Consultants who is another St. Louis based real estate company who also seeks to give back. The two companies combined resources will help expand their access to potential donors where each cause should benefit from the exposure. Asian stocks gain after US, China announce truce on tariffs

Oct 14, 2019

BEIJING — Asian stock markets have risen after Washington and Beijing announced a truce on tariff hikes in a trade war. Benchmarks in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Seoul advanced. Japanese markets were closed for a holiday. President Donald Trump agreed Friday to put off planned tariff hikes this week on Chinese goods in a fight over Beijing's trade surplus and technology plans. In exchange, he said China would buy American farm goods. But the two sides reported no progress on basic disputes that sparked the 15-month-old fight that threatens global economic growth. Friday's truce "has simply temporarily halted the escalation...

China criticizes Apple for app that tracks Hong Kong police

Oct 14, 2019

HONG KONG — Apple became the latest company targeted for Chinese pressure over protests in Hong Kong after the ruling Communist Party's main newspaper criticized the tech giant Wednesday for a smartphone app that allows activists to report police movements. HKmap.live, designed by an outside supplier and available on Apple Inc.'s online store, "facilitates illegal behavior," the People's Daily said in a commentary. "Is Apple guiding Hong Kong thugs?" the newspaper said. Beijing has pressed companies including Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Airways to take the government's side against the protests, which are in their fourth month. Apple didn't immediately respond...

Hong Kong readies for more protests after night of clashes

Oct 14, 2019

HONG KONG — Young protesters, many wearing masks to disguise their identity, filled the open areas of a Hong Kong shopping mall Sunday and chanted slogans and held up signs calling for democracy and other demands of their months-long movement. Backed by a few on musical instruments, they sang what has become their anthem, many lining the balustrades for several floors up overlooking where others gathered in the wide space below. The latest gathering came after a night of violent clashes in which the police used tear gas and rubber rounds against protesters who threw gasoline bombs toward them and...

Asian stocks mixed after US, China impose new tariff hikes

Oct 14, 2019

BEIJING — Asian stocks were mixed Monday after Washington and Beijing escalated their trade war with new tariff hikes. Shanghai and South Korea advanced while Tokyo and Hong Kong declined. Markets reacted less strongly to the weekend tariff hikes on billions of dollars of goods than to previous increases. Investors are hoping for progress in talks this month, but analysts warn the fight over trade and technology is unlikely to be quickly resolved. "The short-lived truce will probably provide limited relief," said Zhu Huani of Mizuho Bank in a report. "Businesses have become increasingly uncertain about future prospects, evidenced by...

Unions target Cathay Pacific airline in Hong Kong protest

Oct 14, 2019

HONG KONG — Trade union members in Hong Kong are rallying against the city's flagship Cathay Pacific airline for firing employees linked to ongoing pro-democracy protests. They gathered Wednesday afternoon in a central square in front of a banner that read "Revoke termination" and "Stop terrorizing CX staff." CX is the code for the airline. Cathay has confirmed the dismissal of several employees in the past two weeks. The rally was called by the Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions after Cathay group airline Cathay Dragon fired the head of its cabin crew union. Chinese aviation authorities have pressured Cathay...
